Looking for a summer read for your young dancer? “Fancy Nancy Budding Ballerina” tells the story of Fancy Nancy, who loves her ballet class so much that she decides to teach her own classes to her family at home.
The story isn’t particularly riveting. The illustrations on the other hand are quite good. We love that Nancy not only goes over the 5 positions of ballet, but also includes the terms:
- Arabesque
- Pirouette
- Plie
- Jete
Overall, we’re giving Fancy Nancy, Budding Ballerina 3.5 stars.
Recommended for dancers ages 4-8. At $3.99 on Amazon it’s hard to go wrong. The Salt Lake County Library system also has 28 copies in circulation.
